Apex Legends Season 13 map update adds a new way to get valuable loot

Apex Legends The new Saviors Season – also known as Season 13 – will include new locations for the player to score loot from, which will be a perfect compliment to any gear they’ve acquired. That’s because this season it doubles as a smart loot feature first found through PvE combat on the map that gives you upgrades to your equipped weapons. This time the loot will be found at IMC Armories Points of Interest which will be exclusive to Storm Point.

These new POIs on the Storm Point map come from the first-ever big battlefield update in Season 13, Respawn Entertainment explained during a preview event for the new season. It’s also connected to Specters from Titanfall games which were previously hinted at in excitement from the developers. The clever loot is obtained by battling these Specters in a wave based mini-game that is comparable to the point of interest of Bloodhound’s Trials where Prowlers fight for better loot after each wave.

These bunker-like structures were raised from underground as precautions after the monster from the game’s Season 13 trailer appeared on the island and was taken down by legends. Some background about their existence said they were supposed to support IMC Pilots before but was never needed, but for those who want to loot them you’ll have to go in to fight Specters.

The weapons themselves are in IMC Armories as well, so you can drop them immediately or later to boost your gear. Once you enter, you activate the challenge and fight as many ghosts as you can within 60 seconds. The more you destroy, the better loot you get. This smart loot will again complement whatever you’re using at the time, so be sure to equip the required gear before redeeming the loot.

One of the best parts of this new feature is that it’s impossible to be a third party here after the trial starts, according to the developers. The armory is closed as soon as you enter which means no one can interrupt your battle and steal your loot. After the fight is over, Respawn said, you can exit the way you entered, or you can take to the skies to avoid any potential third parties after the fight from those who may have been drawn into the commotion.

Samantha Kallman, senior game designer at Respawn, who worked on IMC Armories for Storm Point at the preview event, said the feature will be limited to one map for now, but like other things in climaxRespawn is open to offering this elsewhere based on community feedback.

Apex Legends Season 13 is scheduled to begin on May 10.
